How to complete certification of laser welding process: Seven step standard process
In the field of laser welding, there is a common misconception that only the appearance of the sample is qualified to determine the process compliance, and the stability verification of mass production is ignored. This is the core reason for the low yield rate of mass production and the failure of products in the later stage. This article proposes a standardized seven step certification system for laser welding processes in high-end manufacturing and welding scenarios such as copper bars, flat wire motor card terminals, and structural aluminum parts. The process includes clarifying quantitative acceptance criteria, comprehensively characterizing the characteristics of mass-produced materials, DOE parameter screening, process window mapping, process robustness verification, statistical verification of damage and non-destructive testing, mass production handover, and full process control. The entire certification system abandons idealized sample testing and focuses on variables such as real production conditions, material fluctuations, equipment differences, and thermal accumulation. Through scientific experiments and statistical analysis, a reasonable process window is determined, and a traceable and implementable production control plan is established. At the same time, the triggering mechanism for process re certification is clarified. Strictly implementing this seven step process can effectively avoid the problem of insufficient process certification, significantly reduce the risk of mass production failures and terminal failures, ensure the long-term stability and compliance of laser welding processes, and adapt to industrial production scenarios with high reliability requirements such as automobiles and new energy batteries.
